Italy to meet Spain in final
Italy beat Euro 2008 finalists Germany 2-1 in the semis to set a date against Group C rival Portugal.
Spain beat Portugal 4-2 after a goalless 120 minutes on penalties to reach the final.

England and France deny co-host Ukraine

2012/13 A-League fixtures released
The new team from Western Sydney has also been included in the fixture list and its venues are still to be announced.
The Melbourne derby will kick off the season with the match being played at the Etihad Stadium.
The defending champions Brisbane Roar will face Perth Glory away to start their defence.
The Western Sydney team will start at home as they face the Central Coast Mariners.

Spain, Italy advance in Group C
The defending champions left it late to score the goal that meant they finished top of Group C.
Italy also advanced after overcoming Ireland 2-nil. Ireland were already out of the competition for a quarter-final place after losing the first two matches.
Spain will meet the runners from Group D whilst Italy will face the winners of that group.

2012/13 Premier League fixtures released
The defending champions Manchester City will kick off by hosting the newly promoted Southampton.
Reading will start with at match against Stoke City whilst playoff winners West Ham United will mark their return by playing Aston Villa.

Portugal knocks out the Dutch
The Netherlands needed to win by at least a two goal margin but in the end the 2010 World Cup have left the tournament winless.
The Germans top Group B and will play Greece in the quarter finals whilst the Czech Republic will play Portugal.

Euro 2012 kicks off
The second match of the tournament will see Russia play the Czech Republic.
This is the last Euro tournament that will feature 16 teams with the next edition in France going to feature 24 teams.
The Netherlands will kick off Group B with its match against Denmark and the second match in that group will feature Germany against Portugal.
Group C will start with a blockbuster match with the last two champions clashing as Spain take on Italy.
The Republic mark their return to the tournament when they play Croatia.
In Group D, France will face England before co-hosts Ukraine meet Sweden.
Lambert replaces McLeish at Villa Park
McLeish was sacked at the end of last season and Lambert is coming from the team that beat Aston Villa in McLeish's last match for Villa.
Lambert managed two successive promotions at Norwich and his team finished four places above Villa on the table.
He takes over a team that flirted with relegation for the later part of the season and ensured survival with just one match to go.
