Top two clash: Mainz vs Dortmund

Friday, 29th October 2010 11:32pm
One of the key fixtures of round 10 of the German Bundesliga will see first placed Mainz play second place Borussia Dortmund.

Both teams have lost just one match and Mainz was the last team to lose a match in the league.

Mainz is still to draw a match whereas Dortmund has drawn one match hence its two points adrift from the top.

Its interesting to see that the match Mainz was at home against Hamburg whilst Dortmund are still to lose on the road.

If Mainz win then they will increase their lead at the top to five points whereas if the visitors win they will top the table and create a one point lead.

Dortmund may be second on the ladder but the team has scored more goals and conceded less goals compared to the table topping Mainz.

Here are some of the stats for the two teams so far this season:

Nou Camp challenge: Barca vs Sevilla

Friday, 29th October 2010 11:22pm
In La Liga's round 9, Barcelona will meet Sevilla at the Nou Camp trying to improve the not so impressive home record this season so far.

Barca has played four matches at the Nou Camp and managed to win two and has lost one and drawn one.

The defending champions are surprisingly not one of the five teams yet to be beaten at home and the fixture Barca lost was against newly promoted Hercules.

Sevilla's form has been patchy but they are still in the top half of the table.

Away from home Sevilla has won two and lost two and so its interesting to see what result it will get at the Nou Camp.

Tough test for Spurs at Old Trafford

Thursday, 28th October 2010 11:16pm
Tottenham Hotspurs' quest to be part of the top four group will be scrutinised when the team visits Old Trafford in round 10 of the English Premiership.

Spurs are currently fifth on the table two points adrift of Manchester United who haven't lost a match so far in the league.

The visitors to Old Trafford have only lost once so far on the road having won two and drawn the other match but against Man United it will be a tough test.

On the other hand United have dropped two points at home in the draw against West Brom and will not be looking to drop further points especially against a direct rival for the Champions League places and even the title.

Defending champions Sydney FC claimed its first victory for the 2010/11 season after beating Perth Glory 3-nil at the nib Stadium in round 11 of the A-League.

This was only the first time this season that the champions have managed to maintain a clean sheet. It was also the second time for the team to score more than two goals in a match.

Perth now anchor the form table after losing its last six fixtures.

Adelaide United continued their rich form beating the Wellington Phoenix 3-nil to stay on top of the table.

Adelaide are the only unbeaten team in the league so far.
