Sydney beats Perth to stay on track
A goal scored towards the end of the match was enough to keep Sydney FC on track in the battle for the minor premiership.
Round 26 started with three teams with a chance to land the minor premiership but now only two teams, Sydney and Melbourne Victory are left in the running.
Sydney had to win in order to still have a chance of overhauling Melbourne whom they meet in the final round of the season.
Gold Coast United who started the round in contention lost to their bogey team Wellington Phoenix and now the best they can get in their debut A-League season is second place.
Brisbane Roar's chances of reaching the finals ended with a loss to Adelaide United who were already out of the finals.
Brisbane joins the Central Coast Mariners and North Queensland Fury who are also out of the finals.
In the postponed match between the Mariners and the Newcastle Jets, the Mariners won 3-nil which means they can no longer bottom of the ladder.
The Mariners now have 30 points and Adelaide can only get to 29 points if they also beat Newcastle Jets in the last round.
