Man City, United maintain grip at the top
The English Premier League round 17 produced 31 goals with home teams scoring 13 and the away teams scoring 18.
The champions Manchester United were the biggest winners in the round with a 5-nil win away to Fulham.
Manchester City managed to beat Stoke City 3-nil to maintain their two point lead at the top and enter into the Boxing Day matches as leaders.
It was even better news for the Manchester teams with Tottenham Hotspurs and Chelsea drawing one-all in the last match of the round.
Liverpool had a good chance to get three points but could only manage a goalless draw against Wigan.
The biggest match of the round was probably the encounter between Blackburn Rovers and Bolton which was won 2-1 by Bolton and confine Rovers to the foot of the table.
16 goals were scored in the first half whilst 15 were scored after half-time.
