Mariners face Jets in Grand Final
On Sunday the Central Coast Mariners face Newcastle Jets in the second all NSW A-League Grand final at the Sydney Football Stadium.
Since the start of the A-League the two teams have faced each other 13 times with Mariners winning three times and the Jets five times and remaining five matches being draws of which one was goalless.
So the chances of the Grand Final being goalless are quite slim by the look of things.
But its interesting to note that the Jets have only failed to score against the Mariners three times whilst the Mariners have failed to score against the Jets five times.
The match is being played in a neutral venue, the Sydney Football Stadium, and the Mariners would have hosted it normally(after winning the major semi) but they have only managed to beat the Jets twice at home and lost once.
It would seem like in this case home advantage would have favoured the Jets more with the Jets winning four times at home and then losing and drawing just once.
So a summary of the matches between the two teams is as follows:
|Biggest winning margin||4-1||3-1, 2-0|
So the two teams have scored an equal number of goals against each other and so lets see who would have scored more after Sunday's match.
