Goals galore as Portugal rout North Korea
If there were not many goals in the first round of matches then Portugal produced a bucketful of them as they beat North Korea 7-nil.
The match was 1-nil at the break and there was no indication that six goals were to come in the second half as the North Koreans held their ground.
This is now the biggest winning margin in the competition so far and the table below shows the winning margins for all the 32 matches played so far:
So the second round of matches saw 42 goals as opposed to 25 in the opening fixtures. 19 of the goals were scored in the first half and the second half has just four goals extra.
In Group H, Chile maintained its 100% record after beating Switzerland 1-nil and whilst Spain got its first win winning 2-nil against Honduras. Spain missed a penalty.
The last round of matches starts today with South Africa playing France with both teams aiming to stay in the tournament.
A draw between Uruguay and Mexico will knock off both teams.
Nigeria will be hoping from a helping hand from Argentina to progress whilst South Korea has its fate in its own hands.
Greece could also qualify if they beat Argentina and South Korea do not win against Nigeria.
