Jets, van Egmond part ways
Newcastle Jets and coach Gary van Egmond have parted ways after the club lost to bottom club Melbourne Heart.
Van Egmond was in his second stint at the club and the first stint had been more successful than the second having won the Championship in that.
The Jets are currently seventh on the table.
The Jets are in danger of missing out on the finals but they are still in contention and depending on other results they could finish in the top four places.
Clayton Zane, the youth team coach will take over the team until the end of the season.
