Spain edges past Portugal
Spain reached the quarter-finals of the 2010 FIFA World Cup after beating neighbours Portugal 1-nil in a round of 16 match.
The goal Spain scored is the only goal Portugal conceded in the tournament but the team also had two goalless draws.
Portugal scored seven goals and they were scored in one match and they failed to score against any other team.
Whilst their defence was sound, its fair to say that that their strike force only fired once and that was it.
Spain will now go and meet and Paraguay and the tournament turning out so well for a team that had a bad start after losing opening match to the Swiss.
With the round of 16 coming to an end, no team leading at half time has lost a match so far.
With just eight matches to go before the end of the tournament it will be interesting to see which team will be the first to lose after leading at the break.
