Spain, Paraguay best defences in World Cup
In the just ended FIFA 2010 World Cup, Spain and Paraguay had the best defences with the lowest goals per games ratio.
Spain had the best defence conceding just two goals in seven matches but Paraguay came second conceding also two goals but in five matches.
After five matches, Paraguay and Uruguay were on the same footing with two goals conceded but Uruguay went on to concede a further six goals in its next two matches to slip down the defence ranking.
Switzerland and Portugal each conceded one goal each but the Swiss only played three matches and Portugal four.
Portugal and Uruguay were in fact the only two teams not to concede a goal in the group stages.
