Coyle opts for Bolton
Owen Coyle left Burnley for Bolton Wanderers after the Trotters sacked former manager Gary Megson.
It would look like Coyle built his Burnley side on home form and his old team only lost once at home in the league. That loss was a 3-1 loss to Wigan.
Teams like champions Manchester United went to Turf Moor and lost whilst the Gunners could only scrap a draw.
Whilst the home form was good, the away form was disastrous. Burnley has only picked one point away from home so far.
Interestingly the Trotters have a poor home form having only won just twice at home compared to Burnley's five wins at home.
So I thought it would be interesting to have a quick comparison between Bolton and Burnley:
|Failed to score||4||7|
|Ave. goals scored||1.4||1.1|
|Ave. goals conceded||2.0||2.0|
|Biggest win||Bolton 3 - 1 West Ham||Burnley 3 - 1 Sunderland|
Burnley 2 - 0 Hull
|Biggest loss||Bolton 0 - 4 Chelsea|
Aston Villa 5 - 1 Bolton
|Tottenham 5 - 0 Burnley|
|Score 3 or more||4||3|
|Concede 3 or more||4||7|
|Ave. goals scored||1.6||1.4|
|Ave. goals conceded||2.1||0.9|
|Ave. goals scored||1.3||0.8|
|Ave. goals conceded||1.9||3.1|
The match between Bolton and Burnley ended in a one-all draw.
